A little help from my friends

03-24-2020 There is something so comforting about food and receiving things that relieve stress, while adding comfort in a time that is unsure and often consuming. The servers that came to deliver a meal are family members from the restaurant Mediterraneo. After the Ring informed us that they had come up the driveway, Mike found them there taking photos and videos of our view, which happens all the time. For me, this view is my salvation, sometimes I forget how stunning it is, so it was funny that they became in thrall for that brief moment, helping them forget that their family business is also suffering with the shut down from the Covid19 order. They shared that their family is worried and not sure, if they will be okay, and so, if a moment in time, looking out over the valley below, and the mountains that rim the skyline helps them have a movement of peace, I glad we could offer that with our view. I want to thank the amazing people that are also trying to live each day without selfishness, since this is a time that lends itself to taking care of oneself, and with that, I want to thank all of you that teamed up with Jan Cizik to send over dinner from Mediterraneo’s, which was so nummy, and appreciated. Things are hard right now, and that gesture not only helped Mike and me have a wonderful dinner, but helped the restaurant and gave them a brief moment of beauty from our driveway. I’m also thankful for a man named Kim with the Social Security office that is handling my application, to which I thought I would apply for disability since I won’t be able to do much with the surgery and subsequent chemo +, and thought I might qualify for that. Kim explained that he was going to process my claim, and suggested that I simply take my Social Security a couple of months early, which would be paid next month, rather than having to wait for the next 4-5 months as the claim progresses. I would loose only $30 a month to take it early, so that is always something to consider. The best part is that I only filled out the application yesterday and he called this morning! Way to go Social Security. So, for this morning, I’m grateful and thankful and glad to be a part of an amazing community. Shop local and order from your local restaurants to help them survive.
