Meet Paz, my port

Updated: May 6, 2020

Paz, my port, almost healed

I have such a wonderful community and when I asked for a name for my port, (after all, it will be with me for the next year), Mo, one of my Karen Pryor Academy students, suggested the name Paz.

It means peace, which is what I expect my port to give me when I have blood draws and treatment over this next year.

Thank you Mo!

Haven't named mine, but mine's slightly different. One scar for the port; a second one up near my jugular where the line feeds to the top of my heart. Not the most comfortable thing to get used to being next to and I almost came out of my seat when they punched a 2 gauge needle to draw blood, then start the chemo. It felt like someone was coming at me with a nail gun. Had to apologize to the nicest staff who isn't trying to scare me, but...it scared me.
